Progress and Transparency

Improving transportation safety requires clear goals, datadriven action, and ongoing accountability. As part of the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Program, the University of Mississippi is committed to being transparent about roadway safety challenges, the strategies identified in the Safety Action Plan, and
progress made over time.

This page serves as a central location for sharing updates, data, and outcomes related to the Ole Miss SS4A Safety Action Plan.

Public involvement is an important part of improving transportation safety. This website will continue to serve as a hub for sharing information, resources, and updates related to the SS4A Safety Action Plan.

Community members are encouraged to explore the materials provided and check back for future updates as implementation efforts continue.

Our Commitment

The SS4A Safety Action Plan establishes a longterm vision to reduce serious injuries and fatalities for all roadway users. Progress and transparency are core elements of this effort. Ole Miss is committed to:

·      Making safety data and planning information publicly available

·      Tracking progress toward plan goals over time

·      Communicating clearly about actions taken and next steps

·      Providing accessible tools that help the public understand safety priorities

This approach reflects the Safe System Approach, which recognizes that people make mistakes and that the transportation system should be designed to reduce the severity of crashes when they occur.

Safety Action Plan Documents

The final, adopted SS4A Safety Action Plan is available for public review and download. The plan documents existing safety conditions, identifies priority locations and strategies, and outlines actions to improve safety across the transportation network.

What you’ll find in the plan:

·      A summary of roadway safety trends and risk factors

·      Identification of highrisk corridors and intersections

·      Equity considerations and community engagement outcomes

·      A set of prioritized strategies and projects

·      A framework for monitoring progress and outcomes
